I caught the Felice Brothers at the Boulton Center in Bay Shore last night...great show in a small venue with good sound...the light made it difficult, and I'm still working out the settings on my camera, but here are some shots that capture the mood and document the performance:

songs included:
the big surprise
penn station
chicken wire
run chicken run
frankies gun!
take this bread
saint stephen's end
murder by mistletoe
whiskey in my whiskey
radio song
two hands (townes van zandt)
after the show, we headed further east to the Grey Horse Tavern, where Easy Chief, featuring the Falco Brothers, was playing...Andy Falco is a member of the Infamous Stringdusters and was in from Nashville for the weekend visiting family; for those that only know his flat picking, he is equally adept playing rock and blues...as usual, the band tore the roof off, with Andrew completely wailing on his Strat...Andy's brothers Tom on guitar (sweet slide) and vocals and Patrick on bass are also great musicians and they've been playing together since they were kids...Cousin Chris also holds it down on guitar and vocals...nice drums and keys, as well...we walked in in the middle of a smoking "Brown Eyed women"...songs played included:
Brown Eyed Women
Frankie and Johnny
Empty Pages
space jam (Andy wailing)
Boogie On, Reggae Woman
lots of other stuff...

I was visiting my family in Bay Shore last week and my bro-in-law tried to get tickets for us to the show (it was sold out). He was able to get himself in as he's a member or something at the Boulton but not me. I'm glad my hometown has a venue that gets some good acts. The show is up at etree, dl'ed it for him and he's stoked.
hey rob, how does the show sound? btw, I made a mistake; radio song was not played...
jorma & chris hillman coming up next for me there...
