An open letter to the people who hate Obama more than they love America
I meet you all the time. You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. You hate being called racist. You hate being called a bigot. Maybe if you talked about creating jobs more than you talk about why you hate gay people we wouldn't call you bigots. Maybe if you talked about black people without automatically assuming they are on food stamps while demanding their birth certificates we wouldn't call you racist. You hate socialism and social justice. You hate regulations and taxes and spending and the Government. You hate.
You like war. You like torture. You like Jesus. I don't know how in the hell any of that is compatible, but no one ever accused you haters of being over-committed to ideological consistency. You like people who look like you or at least hate most of the things that you hate. You hate everything else.
Now, I know you profess to love our country and the founding fathers (unless you are reminded that they believed in the separation of church and state), but I need to remind you that America is NOT what Fox News says it is. America is a melting pot, it always has been. We are a multi-cultural amalgamation of all kinds of people, and yet you still demonize everyone who is not a rich, white, heterosexual christian male or his submissive and obedient wife.
You hate liberals, moderates, hell, anyone who disagrees with Conservative dogma as espoused by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You hate em.
Well, here are the facts, Jack. If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don't like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that's not what I am here to tell you.
More rant below the fold . . .
.
Now that you have thrown everything and the kitchen sink at President Obama and it still hasn't worked you are panicking. Obama's approval ratings are still near 50% despite your best efforts to undermine the economy and America's recovery at every step you can. You tried to hold the American economy hostage to force America into default on its' debts, debts that YOU rang up under Bush, so you could blame it on Obama and it failed. You've used the filibuster more than any other Congress ever, going so far as to vote against providing health care access to 9/11 first responders. You remember 9/11, don't you, it's that thing you used to lie us into a war in Iraq, and then when Obama killed Bin Laden and ended the war in Iraq you told people that he hates America and wants the troops to fail. You monsters. You hate Obama with a passion, despite the fact that he is a tax cutting, deficit reducing war President who undermines civil rights and delivers corporate friendly watered down reforms that benefit special interests just like a Republican. You call him a Kenyan. You call him a socialist. You dance with your hatred singing it proudly in the rain like it was a 1950's musical.
Frankly, you disgust me. Your hatred nauseates me. Your bigotry offends me. Your racism revolts me.
Dear haters, I am openly questioning your patriotism.
I think you hate gays, Obama, black people, poor people, all of us, women, atheists and agnostics, Latinos, Muslims, Liberals, all of us, I think you hate every one who isn't exactly like you, and I think you hate us more than you love your country.
I think you hate gay soldiers more than you want America to win its' wars.
I don't even think you want America to win wars, you just want America to have wars, never ending wars and the war profiteering it generates. You love that kind of spending, you love spending on faith based initiatives and abstinence based sex education (George Carlin would have loved that one), you love spending on subsidies for profitable oil corporations, you spend like drunken sailors when you are in the White House, but if it is a Democrat then suddenly you cheer when America doesn't get the Olympics because it might make the black President look bad. But oooh you love your country, you say, and you want it back. Well listen here skippy, it isn't your country, you don't own it, it is our country, and America is NOT the religiously extremist Foxbots who hate science, elitist professors and having a vibrant and meaningful sex life with someone we love if Rick Santorum doesn't approve of it. Rick Santorum isn't running for America's fucking high school dance chaperone, he should probably just shut the hell up about sex, but he can't because he has nothing else to run on.
Republicans can NOT win on the issues. They've got NOTHING. All they have is a divide and conquer class war that pits ignorant racist and bigoted people against the rest of us in a meaningless battle of wedge issues and the already proven to fail George W. Bush agenda again of tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, privatization and war profiteering and nothing else, so all they can do is blame black people, gays the government, anybody and everyone else for their own failings. The party of personal responsibility, my ass.
But they love multi-national corporations, just ask a gay hating and racist religious extremist if they think Corporations are people and they will gladly agree, but if you ask them if gay people are people they aren't so sure.
Dear haters, you are the cruel, heartless misinformed assholes who would sell America out to Haliburton in a heartbeat, you would rather pay ZERO taxes than you would see a newly born baby get access to quality health care, you cheer when we discuss denying health care to young people with preventable diseases, and you boo when we discuss the First Ladies plan to cut back on childhood obesity. You are a cross to carry and a flag to wrap yourself in away from being the people who Upton Sinclair, warned us about, but I guarantee that if Fox News told you to dress that way you would, because you are the same blind, ignorant and closed minded dunces who drove this country into a civil war years ago because you are bound to the notion that some men are more equal than others. In short, the reason I proudly wear my union army hat is because of seditious sell outs like you who constantly fuck over working class Americans so a foreign entrepreneur like Rupert Murdoch can get a bigger tax break. If corporations are people, they are neither American patriots nor capable of love. Just like you.
So stop wearing your hate with pride. Stop celebrating your anti-science, anti-math ignorance. Stop using code words to mask your bigotry like "family values", especially when you hate my family and when you stand on the same stage as a guy who has had three marriages or if you share a seat in the Senate with a guy who cheated on his wife with hookers while wearing diapers. You should be ashamed. I know that you are just doing this to motivate your misinformed hate cult base because if they actually knew that your ideas will make them poorer than they are now, they would never vote for you. You are doing your best to impoverish your countrymen so rich people can get bigger tax breaks and you can keep on delivering corporate welfare to the special interests who have bribed you, and I am disgusted by the way you gleefully parade your hatred with aplomb. I don't think you do love America. At least, not as much as you hate everyone in America who isn't exactly like you.
You should think about that, and maybe get some help.
And for the record, I do not hate you. I am embarrassed by you and nauseated by your cruel and thoughtless behavior and your all consuming greed, but I don't not hate you. I forgive you and I hope you can change someday, but I don't hate you. You have enough hate in you for the rest of us as it is.
Tripe
Not so much...there are principled conservatives and Republicans in this country who are simply in staunch disagreement with the policies and presidency of Obama.
But there are also a fair number of people who just sort of mindlessly, thoughtlessly hate him because they...well, I don't even think they know, but it usually has something to do with that bullshit about Socialism, apologizing to other countries, the birth certificate, apocalyptic predictions about the economic collapse he's supposedly causing, etc...
Many of those people are also very unreasonably frightened of Muslims, opposed to homosexuals' rights to marry or serve openly in the military, against abortion (pro-life, I guess), against unions and collective bargaining rights.
Those aren't just opinions...those are Republican policies. That writer might overstate the case just a bit, but not much (in the case of some people...the thoughtless and terrified rabble that hate Obama for no other reason than they desperately need to rationalize their own ignorance and paralyzing fear).
When you don't actually know shit about how things work, it's easy to point fingers and just say "stupid socialist unamerican."
So much hate.
Poll: Romney, Paul Tie Obama
By Steven Shepard

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, run neck-and-neck with President Obama in a general-election matchup, according to a new CBS News poll released late on Monday that shows the two front-runners in Tuesday's New Hampshire GOP primary running stronger against the president than their fellow Republicans.
Romney posts a two-point lead over Obama, 47 percent to 45 percent, within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points. He leads Obama, 45 percent to 39 percent, among independent voters.
Obama's lead over Paul is just one point, 46 percent to 45 percent, as Paul leads among independents by 7 points.
The president posts more significant leads over the other GOP candidates, but against each he is below the critical 50-percent threshold: He leads former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 49 percent to 41 percent; former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, 48 percent to 41 percent; Texas Gov. Rick Perry, 49 percent to 42 percent; and former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., 47 percent to 43 percent.
Among all adults, just 45 percent of Americans approve of the job Obama is doing as president, slightly worse than the 47-percent approval rating he posted last month. Among independents, 38 percent approve of Obama's job performance, while 49 percent disapprove.
Results released earlier Monday among Republicans who said they intend to vote in their state's presidential nominating contest showed Romney running slightly ahead of the rest of the field, but nearly a third of Republicans are undecided or seeking a candidate not currently in the race.
The CBS News poll was conducted Jan. 4-8, surveying 1,413 adults, for a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points. The poll includes a subsample of 1.247 registered voters.
>>So much hate.
I know...it's a path to the Dark Side.
Yes, Blair. We're glad you have never called our president names or resorted to mindless demagoguery. You are an inspiration to us all.
The bell is ringing at Devry. Go teach the best and brightest.
Night class tonight. I'm grading quizzes this morning. A lot of them are like you--they can't comprehend what they read.
Once again, Blair, my offer to compare professional achievements and awards is still on the table. You must have been employee of the month at least once at Burger King.
Unfortunately it's very poorly written.
I do not "hate" Obama. I just "hate" his idioticly naive policies, that he thinks will lead us to Utopia.
Never has, never will.
I happen to think he is personally a low (no) class cheeseball, but hate him? no, no time for that.
Why do you think he thinks any of the policies he's implemented will lead us to Utopia?
^^Night class tonight. I'm grading quizzes this morning. A lot of them are like you--they can't comprehend what they read.
Do they also make a lot of typos? On their iPads?
>>>he thinks will lead us to Utopia.
show me where he made that claim. He didn't, that is just part of the right wing manufactured hysteria.
>>>idioticly
Another Ipad typo no doubt. Not that Seadog has ever tried to make excuses for being a dolt.
^^that he thinks will lead us to Utopia.
I didn't know Todd Rundgren got the band back together!
Actually Todd did get the band back together and they just did a tour.
what a crock of bullshit
obama seems to love war and he must hate gays...he upped the ante in afgan got us in a not war with libya he's against gay marriage gives billions to his buddies "green" corps
wonder how whothefuckever wrote this "open letter" feels about bush...he/she seems to be quite the hater too
but i'm sure his/her hatred is justified
hypocrite
Obviously Obama hates gay people. That's why he now allows them to serve openly in the military, he's hoping one of them will break a nail. Or a heel.
>>>Obviously Obama hates gay people. That's why he now allows them to serve openly in the military
yet obama doesn't want them to get married.
"............this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth" - yeah, whatever.
fuck him, daily kos, & cuc. hell, throw gregg in there too.
You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. >>

WASHINGTON — President Obama, in a striking legal and political shift, has determined that the Defense of Marriage Act — the 1996 law that bars federal recognition of same-sex marriages — is unconstitutional, and has directed the Justice Department to stop defending the law in court, the administration said Wednesday.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced the decision in a letter to members of Congress. In it, he said the administration was taking the extraordinary step of refusing to defend the law, despite having done so during Mr. Obama’s first two years in the White House.

Gay and lesbian service members and veterans plan to file suit Thursday challenging the constitutionality of the federal ban on gay marriage and federal policy that define a spouse as a person of the opposite sex.
The suit comes five weeks after the Pentagon ended its ban on gays in the military.
Lawyers plan to sue in federal district court in Boston, the same court that ruled last year that the federal Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional because it interferes with a state’s right to define marriage. That decision is being appealed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

President Barack Obama is throwing his support behind a bill that would repeal the federal government's ban on same-sex marriage.
The president has "long called for a legislative appeal for the so-called Defense of Marriage Act which continues to have a real impact on families," White House spokesman Jay Carney announced Tuesday.
The president is “proud to support” the Respect for Marriage Act, which would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, Carney said.
The Obama administration announced in February that it believes the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional and would no longer defend it in court.
At the time, Carney said that Obama was still "grappling" with his personal view of gay marriage but has always personally opposed the Defense of Marriage Act as "unnecessary and unfair."

So hey Hillman, FUCK YOU VERY MUCH!
>>>Carney said that Obama was still "grappling" with his personal view of gay marriage
still grappling with the lack of reading comprehension skills, aren't you?
How many of the Obama haters out there hate him because he opposes gay marriage?
Wow, Bert, where did you find that picture? I've never seen it before!
Bert found it at one of his "Hate Obama" sites.
>>>Carney said that Obama was still "grappling" with his personal view of gay marriage
^^still grappling with the lack of reading comprehension skills, aren't you?
No Hillman, I can read just fine. The president has ordered the DOJ not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act.
President Barack Obama is throwing his support behind a bill that would repeal the federal government's ban on same-sex marriage.
I don't really care what his personal view is. He is working to repeal DOMA.
I don't like turnips but I don't think they should be illegal.
It's been great having this intellectually stimulating conversation with you.
Oh
By the way
FUCK YOU VERY MUCH!!
nah, i'd be the best piece you ever had in your life & i wouldn't want to give you the pleasure.
i mean really, i post this comment about obama's well known personal animous towards gay marriage, you post a diatribe on DOMA and then say you don't care what obama's personal view on gay marriage is.
whatever floats your boat.
Your first post on this thread included this lovely quote,
"fuck him, daily kos, & cuc. hell, throw gregg in there too."
And then I posted a diatribe?

I really have to say that "fuck him, daily kos, & cuc. hell, throw gregg in there too." qualifies as a diatribe.
If you can't take as good as you give go throw some glitter on the Furthur board.
So, is this article implying that Obama is actually strong on confronting racism, illegal immigration, anti gay attitudes, etc, etc? Or maybe that he's not great, but merely better than the Republicans? If it's the latter, very comforting if you've been impacted by racism, illegal immigration, and hatred for homsexuality..................
As your resident homo, I can say that he's been very strong on confronting anti-gay attitudes. You all act like he didn't push through a repeal of DADT, stop defending DOMA in court, stop deporting gay immigrants who married American citizens, broaden State Dept. benefits to gay partners, among other things. If you think that's just merely better than Republicans, and not head and shoulders above the GOP policy and the current crop of GOP candidates through routinely demonize gay people on the campaign trail, you're just kinda clueless.
As another resident homo, let me remind you what was going on societally when I graduated from high school in 1977.
The Briggs Initiative
During 1977 and 1978, the Save Our Children campaign successfully lobbied to repeal homosexual rights ordinances in Dade County, Florida; Eugene, Oregon; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Wichita, Kansas. These successful campaigns inspired right-wing state senators in California and Oklahoma to introduce state-wide laws targeted at gay and lesbian teachers.
John Briggs, as part of his plan to run for the governorship of California, introduced Proposition Six (also known as the Briggs Initiative) in California. The Briggs Initiative called for the firing of any school employee who was found to be "advocating, soliciting, imposing, encouraging, or promoting private or public homosexual activity directed at, or likely to come to the attention of schoolchildren and/or other employees."
From: http://www.glbtq.com/social-sciences/teachers,5.html
These people tried to pass a law that said if any school employee, gay or straight, advocated gay rights they could be fired.
Reading Cinderoo's list of President Obama's accomplishments on our behalf and contrasting it to what was happening when I came of age, I rejoice.
Sorry that link didn't copy correctly.

fair enough homos. good points.... but how about on the other issues....
>>>If you can't take as good as you give
you have no idea, but if you're feeling froggy bring it on. i'll start:
"By GreggD (Albanygregg) on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - 05:34 pm: Edit Post
I don't love DOING my yardwork, but I love the look when the hedges are all trimmed and the grass is cut."
you allegedly can't work at a job so you collect govt money. but you're apparently healthy enough to do yard work. no, no hypocrisy there at all while you mow the yard & trim your hedges at the same time stealing taxpayer money. no landscaping jobs there in albany?
so on one hand you praise obama re: gay shit & on the other you don't give a damn what his personal views are. ok.
>>>As another resident homo
there ya go.
Well here at the manor I have a staff of 8 that I pay with my government pension.
Why the fuck do you think you know better than my doctors what I am and am not capable of doing? You are just another asshole that assumes everyone on disability is faking. Are you really so ignorant as to think you just get disability for the asking? I have explained to you before that I did not want to leave my job, my employer decided that I was not capable of performing my duties.
You should apply for disability. You are obviously mentally challenged.
And as far as this goes:
"so on one hand you praise obama re: gay shit & on the other you don't give a damn what his personal views are. ok."
No I don't care what his personal views are as long as he does not try to impose them on me. The way you are trying to impose your beliefs on me.
Please consider stepping in front of a bus.
>>>Why the fuck do you think you know better than my doctors what I am and am not capable of doing?
for the same reason that you think you know how i feel about a particular subject or person. you infer shit that isn't in anything i post & make a wild ass assumption about what we may be discussing and 95% of the time you're completely & totally off base. you may have "explained" your situation to blair or bert, all i've ever see are the retorts between the 2 or 3 of you and i don't know what your disability is, nor do i really care.
>>>You are just another asshole that assumes everyone on disability is faking. Are you really so ignorant as to think you just get disability for the asking?
another wild ass guess on your part, fuckface. no, i have a sister that had to fight for 2 years to get disability for a back problem that caused her to lose her job immediately after she received her degree. she was going to be dean of admissions for our highly recognized community college here until the genetic back problem came along. hell, i may get that condition in the future too. so no, i'm not an asshole that assumes everyone on disability is faking it because i lived through that time with my sister and i know how difficult it was. she was in the same hospital as my father when he died recovering from back surgery. she was one floor above him and couldn't even get out of bed to come down for his last day on this goddamned planet because she was in so much pain. that was 2 years ago & she still hasn't recovered. so much for that little fucking assumption of yours.
i suppose there's only one employer in the albany area, eh? fuck off & step in front of a high speed train or something similar that will save the fucking planet while taking you out at the same time.
There are many employers in the Albany area however 5 doctors have decided I am disabled. Two of my choice and 1 each from my employer, my pension system and the social security system. I am currently being treated by doctors in 3 different specialties.
I would love to discuss this further with you but right now I have to hook up for a home dialysis treatment.
I am sorry for your sister's suffering. I hope she is getting the benefits she deserves from both Social security and medicare.
a friend of mine was hit by a drunk driver who ran a light. had a leg amputated--before that, he climbed trees for the power company, pulling off limbs, and clearing for wires...after that, and several surgeries, years of medical issues, and limited mobilitity, he couldnt work, then had to re-train for new work..
luckily he had disability, social security, food stamps, govt paid re-training through a federal benefits program he was eligible for, and govt help with other areas of his now changed life--b/c the guy who hit him, proceeded to crash into a pole and die--and the lawsuits to get some money from his estate took a while-and held up insurance settlements...thankfully, he had govt help, or he couldnt have fed his kids!
not everyone on disability, or needing govt $$ help, like welfare, food stamps etc is faking.
(and most people getting govt help are white people, contrary to what newt and the gop try and claim) its one of the great successes of our country that we help our fellow citizens out when in need--especially when its not their own fault!
the govt safety net is something to be proud of as an american! its one of many things that make our country great!
>(and most people getting govt help are white people, contrary to what newt and the gop try and claim)
Not as a percentage of each group.
^^^WTF is that supposed to mean?
less whites as a percentage of the white population are on assistance than other groups, like blacks or latinos
that's what that means. whites are about 50% of the population, so of course their raw numbers are larger.
i saw this in the NYTimes on Saturday.
This is shocking to you?
>> less whites as a percentage of the white population are on assistance than other groups, like blacks or latinos
The problem is that collapse of the family unit among minorities. Hard to make ends meet when you didn't get married before having kids.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/10/colbert-s antorum-black-people_n_1196793.html
Not shocking to me at all. I already knew the stats. Even worse for some other minorities. What I want to know is WTF difference does it make? I have heard people try to use this as a defense and as an attack on some minorities. Which way are you using it?
My opinion is that we should have no need for such programs if the country was providing the needed opportunities for the under-priviliged of any race, but we are not so these programs are the natural outgrowth of a compassionate society and not one which would cast the down trodden to the curb.
>Which way are you using it?
Just as a factual statement. No agenda.
Fair enough.
