I hope not. I have hooked up with old and new friends there and its a easy way to communicate with friends and family but I keep my Hep C stuff on the board. I am doing phine since TX but I hope we can get some newbies here. When I was on TX we had a whole crew, posting pix, talking, fighting, sharing and we got through this treatment TOGETHER!

I hear ya Rob... things have been a bit quiet here in The Zone lately, haven't they? One could hope that there are less new infections and more people are clearing the virus but we know that isn't realistic... I'm still here and checking in - although not posting as much since I don't really have much to say (mark THAT down in your date books pholkes - me with nothing to say!).

Anyway... long live The Zone and the phamily that inhabits it... use it or lose it!

Love and peace to all
Brian

mafia wars would have really made tx more bearable, mob wars too.

I like cafe world & farmVille. @ least i can pretend I'm making money....
I think fewer & fewer people are opting for chemical tx. No one I know in CA is currently doing it and virtually everyone I know has Hep C. I think the shock of the frequency of the disease is over. Big pharma created a wave of fear and they've ridden it out as far as is safe right now. Public isn't ripe for expensive non-cures and corporate lies. them boys butt's are a-showing....;-) hehehe

What is a face book?

Just kidding, I will not go there, personel preference, but my wife loves the Farm and Farkle, she has built quite the Farm. Willie would be proud.

Family farms all alive in the electro world.

Stan, I agree with the shock statement. You still hear fear tactics from the media.

Screw Big Pharma.

Big Farma on Face Book is good.

When my wife is on there, it seems to slow down the computer after alittle. Their slow servers and perhaps a critter or two.

Just not my cup "o" tea.

Don't understand the twitter concept either.

Is it a popularity contest? Who can have more freinds, not knockin just don't get it.

This morning on FB I chatted with my daughter and a phellow zoner to get an address. If I log off, it dosen't really slow my PC down.
I have my family and friends that I have access to all on the same site! But it will never replace the zone I hope. The zone is special!

I have often contemplated this topic. The Hep C forum has slowed down since FB.

FB is wonderful for some and an evil information gathering entity for others. I fall in to the FB lover group. It's place to keep up with friends and family from all aspects of my life.

Just this week a group of us from 1973 - 1988 (Demolay and Rainbow girls) found each other one or two at a time and almost instantly this group that spent so much time togethr during our formative years were talking and sharing photos of children and grandchildren. This Sunday we are having a reunion! All in a week of FB.

But No Way, No How will FB ever replace the Zone!!!

This is sanctuary. This is where we come to discuss our common thread...We are or were infected with Hep C and have to deal with it every day.

The Zone, for me, is family. I have been fortunent to meet so many from this group (thanks for vacationing in Florida, we love your tourist $$$). Not a bad nut in the bunch.

I can not discuss blood work, biopsies, ect on FB...well I could, but I don't.

I do post more photos on FB and less on the Zone...Damn the resizing...

FB is where I post social stuff...

The Zone is where I post Hep C and health stuff.

Yea, I used to post everything here...now it's a bit separated.

Love to all...Enjoy the day! I'm off to stimulate the economy with some shopping.

Yes, I too agree that our hepper zone has slowed down alot. Like what was said, this was my life-line through my TX. As fucked up as TX is, I made
more special friends while feeling the most miserable time of my life, than I have through any of my other many adventures. I mean special
(call you up if you have'nt checked in) friends,
who I still have and cherish. It was sorta a pharmy shock deal pushing their RX/TX, and had everyone scared. Then we did it (TX) and some made it and some did'nt. Then time moved on....many shows...much technology (Facebook, etc.)....many real meet-ups...we are a piece of everyone else's lives....I will always be here.
And through Facebook, I have made contacts with alot of my own family, not to mention all of you.
It's like Betsy said it's a social thang. Now, with the Holidayz here, I will share yours as I'm
broke, home alone, and chained to a caregiver garden that I make no money on, only medication.
Time to follow my dreams and sail away......

With FB I found long lost people that I really wanted to get in contact with. As I tell my kids there are Internet detective agencies that all kind of companies use like when you are going for a job or a loan they will find out whatever they want. If people can hack super computers like the Pentagon of course they can get anything anywhere.Ergo don't post a picture swigging tequila ,topless and then swapping spit with your buddy. This is the kind of stuff that can come back to haunt you . I am going for a teaching position myself but I have nothing to hide these daze!I used to be paranoid but then I thought I don't do anything to be paranoid and if I ever did the statue of limitations from the 60s has long laspsed . I am in touch with friends family and a lot of writers and musicians and some are pretty well known, I publish my papers that may be be of interest. I have hundreds of photo posted and a video of me jamming in my house! Artie Lang just sent me some communication on a Woodstock paper I did for school. So facebook is like a screwdriver. You can poke someone with it or fix something that might save a life .Sometimes I intermingle hep c and health stuff on FB but the zone is the zone.
Imagine Peace and everyone minding their own biz

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Never Trust A Drummer!! (Rob_the_drummer) on Friday, December 18, 2009 - 03:18 pm: Edit Post

Actually I might start a hep c group with lots of links which would expose a lot of people to donor awareness and hep c on FB. Although my time is so limited that its work that I don't have time to do! To change the subject I think I am gonna be named to the deans list and I am still loving school. I am now opting for honors classes so I get a little more bang for my buck. I decided this after taking a Western Civ class that I should have done as an honors class

Pffft, you'd barely make your money back if you could, Budley. Drop by the house soon or call me. I need a ride up N to see my sweetie next week. I'll pay u 4 a ride. That saturn is too iffy for the long haul, imo.

Hey now everybody...face book will neer replace the zone...it is a sanctuary, where FB is a mall.

Black Dragon update...I moved up the donner list ,
it is still up in the air somewhwere when I will get the call...the Cancer is still in remission and they are treating me with Kumadin for a clot they found in my liver....tired most of the time, it has be a war of attrition , but I refuse to let this dragon have his way. I'll stick a broadsword down his throught first.

Can't wait to see you Betsy, i always feel better when your around.

High RTD.....peace...mack
