i have reservations & serious ambivalent feelings abt official approval. in fact, oddly enough, my big focal point for 2010 will be to defeat the tax & regulate cannabis proposition presuming it makes the ballot, and it appears it will. Ask me later if you wonder why. I do however support this legislation, hopefully on the ballot in 2012:

SECTION 1. Section 11357.1 is added to the Health and Safety Code, to read:
11357.1 (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Cannabis Freedom Act of 2012.
(b)(1) The people of the State of California hereby find and declare that the purposes of the Cannabis Freedom Act of 2012 are as follows:
(A) To ensure that Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for their own purposes.
(B) To ensure that Californians who obtain and use marijuana are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction.
(C)To authorize the state legislature to tax cannabis products at the same general retail sales tax rate per any other herbal product.
(2) Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede legislation prohibiting persons from engaging in conduct that endangers others.

Earl, I prefer cbd for my pain. CA mmj research, although limited, has indicated this chemical component of the cannabis plant is the pain blocker. Some dispensaries have their stuff tested and have the thc/cbd ratios & %ages listed. If you get cancer, Earl, call me. I was making this stuff for recreational use in my teens, the exact same way (rubbing alcohol). Or just move to CA or CO or.....and buy the oil/capsules @ the club.

Earl, having turned you & yours onto this I feel I need to say more. Should you or anyone you know find themselves desperate enough to try this, and i personally would not recommend it nor do i take responsibility for any outcomes positive or negative, please do NOT try it w/ that imported brickweed they have down there in FL. That stuff is often saturated in everything from soda pop to urine in order to rehydrate it & press it into bricks for smuggling. My advice would be to stay away from that crap even for recreational purposes. use only top quality, fresh homegrown cannabis buds for medicine or better still relocate to a sympathetic state and stay there until your tx is finished.
