ARCHIVE 2010:
Eligard for prostate cancer
I am wondering if there is any expierences with this from any one on the board. My Dad, in his eighties, started treatments.
Any first hand or knowledge other than the usual look up the website stuff would be appreciated.
Grateful.
I do know from having been a nurse aide, that for someone in their eighties prostate cancer advances very slowly. It is treatable because it grows so slowly, and because it need not be "cured" since it tends to advance slower than the natural course of life. With good medical treatment he should do OK, I pray this is how it is for him. Peace and love, Fran
Thanks Fran. I understand more about the treatment and progression after a good discussion with my folks last evening.
Hey Jazfish hang in there...where lil when we need her...hope things go well for your dad...my Mom is in her 80's and was put in the hospital today it is scary when they get up in age and things happen...I will be remembering your dad in my thoughts stay strong.
Thanks Sugar.... we have been going through quite a time with both of my folks, and some what my wifes Mom's,not so much, also in her eighties, health issues the last year and a half with some serious issues. I have to admit some times I feel helpless and sort of feel guilty that I can not do more. There has been almost uncountable hospital stays and emergencies with both of them( my folks).
We are extremely happy with the local Doctors and attention they are getting. My sister is an Angel, she grabbed the reins always seems to know what to do. I gladly follow her lead.
That, John Wayne Generation, is one tough group. They seem to always have the right attitude and accept things for what they are.
The Docs mend them up and they always bounce back.
(((((Your Mom and you)))))
and
(((((That Generation)))))
No firsthand knowledge but all the best to your father during his treatment.
